A Turin reverie
As of today many schools in Turin have resumed their classes before the official date of September 14th. Many Italians are back from their August vacations mostly in Italy and very few in other European countries. The temperatures have slowly been dropping but last Saturday we were still in the full of the summer with our 30C/86F and the sweat dripping down our backs as we were walking downtown.

turinepi20 week 2
Turin Epicurean Capital normally lasts 3 days in Turin but covid19 kept most of our guests at home and so we met them virtually online and these are our week 2 chats.
- As our guests loved the turinepi19 cheese tasting at Latteria Bera, we had planned another one this year too. Given the situation, we decided to do a virtual one where Chiara presented 7 cheeses, mostly produced in Piedmont, the vegan gianduiotti and cremini chocolates you can buy in her historic dairy and naturally, her famous whipped cream 😋

April in Turin
April always makes a great month to visit Turin: the days are longer and the weather is generous enough to allow you to eat out in the many cozy piazzas and pedestrian streets.
Besides our humongous Easter chocolate eggs, and the endless list of artisan chocolate makers, you should try before the chocolate season ends, there are also other events that make April a good month to visit Torino.
Most events of 2019 happen after Easter. So, if you are planning a visit in the first 3 weeks of April check our suggestions here.

Piemonte flavored gelato in the UK
If you love gelato as much as we do, you will love this post by Laura Hadland about Gelato Village, in Leicester, UK. This is the gelateria founded by our Twitter and Instagram friends Antonio and Daniele, both from Turin 🙌
Gelato Village: Bringing a flavour of Piemonte to the UK
When Gelato Village first opened its doors in August 2014, its Italian owners, Antonio De Vecchi and Daniele Taverna, had no idea if the people of Leicester, England would have an appetite for authentic Italian gelato. The two natives of Turin had come to the UK over 10 years earlier, working in the medical and IT industries. It was their love of high quality food, inspired by their Piemontese upbringing which encouraged them to throw in the towel on their old careers and turn their passion into a business.

5 gelaterias in Turin
Our daily gelato consumption is following the rising temperatures these days. To be honest in Turin, we have access to amazingly creamy gelatos and the four seasons aren't really a limit to our gelato cravings, in fact, we have gelato - read: a ton of gelato, all year round.
However, we must admit that when the weather gets warmer we can have more than one gelato a day...
So here follows a list of our top 5 favorite gelato places in Turin!

Turin: hidden treasure
Enjoy this guest post by Tom from Bristol (UK) co-author of There's treasure everywhere a very interesting and rich website about art, travel, books, movies and food. This website aims to be a place where you can read about the hidden gems that make your life better.
Thanks to this trip to Turin, there is now a travel section on his website and more people can be introduced to this wonderful city!
Turin is a hidden treasure
Our decision to visit Turin was made without a great deal of research. We wanted to visit a city that was near mountains. One that would be interesting but with plenty of scope for relaxing, oh and some nice food and wine would be great as well.
Nestled in the foot of the Alps, the location was as expected perfect. What we didn’t realise though was how beautiful, stimulating and downright delicious the city would be.
