our covid 19 Holidays

Incredibly we made it to the end of 2020 🙆 and boy, hadn't we lived it, we wouldn't believe what we've been through these past months 😥
Despite all the difficulties and losses, 2020 also reserved us some good surprises and we feel particularly grateful for the small things we rediscovered.
Little we knew back in March what our future would reserve us, but as Italy is about to be declared 'yellow zone' we feel like this is our big Christmas present and are ready to celebrate 🎍

Novembre a Torino

T-day with an Italian twist

Unlike many other years, 2020 held our breaths till the Biden-Harris' victory. Now we all can finally move on and think about our Thanksgiving Day or Holidays menu.

This can be a delicate issue as families have their staple dishes and expats around the world don't always have access to certain ingredients. For one, Italian turkeys are different animals and taste different from the north American ones. Also more people have decided to go vegetarian, or even vegan, or to detox their system. In view of all these considerations, we are sharing two of our successful recipes to give an Italian twist to your Turkey Day table: pumpkin gnocchi and pumpkin chocolate bread as we talked about in our last Italian class:

The door of the Devil

Like the best of the stars Turin can take many forms and this month she is in full Halloween mood! However, Torino is always in a spooky mood as you can read in this guests post by Mari Biella, a TurinEpi16 guest  😉

Santa Cristina church

In our BC - before covid19 - era we started a series of posts about our very own Turin's churches. Granted that Torino isn't Rome with its 1000 different beautiful churches in many different architectural styles, dating back to different periods of history, still Torino counts about 114 churches and most of them are famous places totally worth a visit!
