Miretti's gelato

If you have been following us for a while you all already know about Lucia's love for gelato, so it doesn't come as a surprise that artisan gelato is always part of Turin Epicurean Capital πŸ˜
For this 8th edition we went back to Bar Gelateria Miretti in Corso Matteotti 5, here in Turin!

This is a real gelato heaven 🌈 and both our guests and us never tire of trying their new flavors as well as their classics.
Mr Leonardo La Porta is an award winning Master Gelato Maker πŸ¦and the master mind of this very famous gelato shop in Turin 😎

Because Turin has also been the European chocolate capital since the late 1600s, we decided to present you Mr La Porta's top 4 chocolate flavors 🍫:

- Turin's staple chocolate: gianduja made with cream and round and gentle hazelnuts butter from Piedmont
- dark chocolate aka the vegan chocolate gelato or sorbet, as the specialists call it, made with Ecuador raw  cocoa
- Belgian chocolate or the Ratatouille's 'hot cocoa cup' creamy and with choco chunks like kids enjoy it! This flavor is Mr La Porta's own creation.
- white chocolate: with real cocoa butter, velvety and intense

another specialty: his mandarin orange/tangerine sorbet made with handsqueezed juice of mandarin oranges from Ciaculli in Sicily.
These mandarin oranges 🍊are a real wonder, a Slow Food certified local specialty, and this sorbet keeps all their freshness, sweetness, tartness and orangy qualities. Their season is March so rather late compared to the others and their production is extra tiny!

Most of all when you savor this sorbet, it will feel like eating a frozen tangerine.

For all of you amici, who love our bella lingua, we also filmed fully in Italian, for the real thrill 🍨 though you'll have to come over to Turin and devote a sweet half day to this gelato experience. Mr Leonardo La Porta will be very happy to direct your gelato tasting πŸ˜‹

πŸ‘‰Upon request, if you take one of our tours with tasting(s), you'll get the chance to also fall for another amazing flavor: Mr La Porta's sorbet made with Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco ruby red and fizzy wine 🍷

Keep in mind this is a special edition, so you'll have to request it in advance and won't regret it!! In fact, you'll buy 2.2lb / 1kg to enjoy in the night and for breakfast πŸ’ƒ
