Women's fashion by women in fashion

Turin has always had a preferred sense for fashion and to celebrate it, Turin fashion designer and fashion historian, Adriana Delfino is holding three mini seminars about three big women fashion icons: Coco Chanel, Madeleine Vionnet and Elsa Schiaparelli.

The presentations take place at Spazio 28
in the courtyard art gallery and architecture studio of
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II 28, in Turin,

either on Tuesdays at 6pm or on Wednesdays at 10:30am.

To reserve e-mail torinospazio28@gmail.com or call 335 6661 281

Presentation calendar:
  • November 17 and 18: Coco Chanel
  • November 24 @ 6pm and 25 @10:30am: Madeleine Vionnet
  • December 1 @ 6pm and December 2 @ 10:30am: Elsa Schiaparelli
During the seminars, Adriana Delfino gives a full description of these innovative women in fashion within their historical period, showing unusual pictures of their works, their lives, of vintage magazines, sharing personal anecdotes and technical details.
Each seminar lasts about 90min. just the time to quickly get an idea of who these women were and how strong their sign still is today.

Adriana's fashion presentations become alive when she quotes the designers and the people who wrote about them. This is how we learned today that Gabrielle Chanel aka Coco "got into the fashion business because she wanted to get rid of all the styles she didn't like".
Coco Chanel was also an innovator in the perfume industry as her staple N.5 fragrance was the first one ever created with chemical stabilizers, that allowed the scent to last for hours without fading away.
The real genius touch though was her choice of creating a mix of over 80 different essences that made her iconic N.5 unique and impossible to imitate.

Coco Chanel had a hard full life of work and heart break and Adriana Delfino passionately presented with the wit and affection she puts into everything she does, especially, her own fashion creations and fashion workshops.

Try to make it to her fashion seminars and follow Adriana on her website, Facebook, Twitter and on her blog!
